FAQ

What is Authenticity Coaching?

Authenticity Coaching is about helping you reconnect with who you truly are beneath conditioning, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and self-doubt.

Rather than focusing solely on changing your thoughts or building better habits, this work helps you understand the deeper patterns shaping how you think, feel, and show up in your life.

Together, we explore your beliefs, emotional responses, nervous system patterns, and subconscious conditioning so you can begin releasing what no longer feels true to you.

The goal isn’t to become someone new - it’s to uncover who you already are, build self-trust, and create a life that feels honest, aligned, and genuinely your own.

How does Authenticity coaching work?

Authenticity Coaching is a guided process of helping you uncover and understand who you actually are.

In our work together, we explore the patterns you’ve been stuck in - like people-pleasing, perfectionism, self-doubt, or emotional disconnection - and begin to understand what’s underneath them.

I bring in a blend of science-backed tools and deeper inner work, including:

  • Understanding your nervous system and emotional patterns

  • Learning how to process and work with your emotions

  • Exploring subconscious beliefs and conditioning

  • Reflective questioning and practical exercises

  • Ongoing support and accountability

All of this is designed to build self-awareness—because real change doesn’t come from forcing new habits, it comes from understanding the root of what’s been driving them.

When you can see why you think, feel, and behave the way you do, those patterns begin to shift naturally. You’re no longer trying to “fix” yourself - you’re learning how to work with yourself.

From there, you start making decisions differently. You trust yourself more. You feel more connected to what you want and how you feel. This is how change becomes sustainable—not through pressure or willpower, but through self-understanding and reconnection.

It is important to note that I am not the same as a therapist, psychologist, doctor, counselor, etc.

I do not diagnose, advise, prescribe, or ‘fix’; I am here to help you make your own decisions that are in alignment with where you want to be.

How is it different from traditional coaching?

Traditional coaching often focuses on setting goals, building habits, and creating external change.

Authenticity Coaching goes deeper.

Instead of focusing only on what you want to change, we explore why you feel, think, and behave the way you do. We look at the patterns underneath things like people-pleasing, perfectionism, and self-doubt, and begin to understand what’s driving them.

From there, change doesn’t come from forcing yourself into new behaviors - it comes from reconnecting with yourself and making choices that feel more natural and aligned.

What can I expect during a coaching session?

During our sessions, you can expect a safe, supportive space where you can slow down and explore what’s really going on beneath the surface.

We’ll look at your patterns, emotions, and experiences in a way that helps you better understand yourself - especially in areas like people-pleasing, perfectionism, and self-doubt.

I’ll guide you through processing what’s coming up, asking thoughtful questions, and helping you connect the dots so things start to make more sense. From there, you’ll begin to feel more clarity, self-trust, and a stronger connection to yourself.

How long does it take to see results?

The timeline looks different for everyone, because this work is deeply personal. Many people begin to notice shifts within the first few sessions - like increased awareness of their patterns, a better understanding of their emotions, and moments of responding differently instead of reacting automatically.

Deeper, more lasting change tends to happen over time as you continue to build self-awareness, process emotions, and reconnect with yourself.

How do sessions work?

If you choose a multi-session package, we’ll meet once per week for a 60-minute virtual session via Google Meet.

In each session, we explore your patterns, emotions, and experiences so you can better understand yourself and reconnect with who you are. From there, you’ll begin to make more aligned choices and integrate what you’re learning into your everyday life.

I will hold you accountable in whatever way suits you best until the next session. Accountability messages could be sent through whatsapp or e-mail, with frequency varying from one day out of the week, up to five days of the week - whatever you need to feel supported! Additional phone calls or video chats can be discussed if needed.

How do I get started?

You can send me a message through this website or directly to umekolaird.coaching@gmail.com

From there, we can connect over email or set up a free 15-minute call to see if this work feels like the right fit for you.

If it does, we’ll book your first session. I’ll send over a short intake form and agreement beforehand, and then we’ll begin.

In your first session, we’ll start exploring what’s been coming up for you and begin the process of understanding your patterns, reconnecting with yourself, and creating space for something different.

Do I need to have prior experience with coaching?

No prior experience is necessary! My coaching is designed for anyone, whether you’re new to these concepts or have some background. I’ll guide you through the process at your own pace.

What techniques do you use in your coaching?

I utilize a variety of techniques, including emotional processing and nervous system regulation practices, visualization, meditation, and self-awareness exercises. Each session is tailored to your unique needs, ensuring you receive the support that resonates with you.

Can I work with you if I'm not local?

Absolutely! I offer virtual coaching sessions, so you can benefit from my services no matter where you are.
